Atomic Edge Artwork for Action Cards
The Art Style
The Cold War lasted for over 40 years, yet people tend to think mostly about the 1950s and 1960s when they think about the threat of all-out nuclear war. “Duck and Cover” drills in school, air raid sirens, and ever-increasing stockpiles of atomic weapons were the hallmarks of this time period. With that in mind, I used that as the starting point for the art style inspiration for the Atomic Edge action card art. Particularly I drew inspiration from the comic books of the era, using halftone print effects, bold dark outlines, and muted colors. I also threw in some action lines as well, depending on the piece.
Cards Completed
Of the 36 different Action cards and United Nations cards, eight of them have been completed. We have art for the following cards: Airlift, Blockade, Dead Hand, Hotline, Massive Retaliation, Olympics, Reactor Meltdown, and Sanctions. Finding Feedback
Since there is a good amount of art done, the next step is to get feedback from a larger community, like playtesting groups and Reddit.

Boardgamers are collectors. We have our collection prominently displayed somewhere in our house in hopes that a visitor or visitors might say “ooh what’s that?” while pointing to an eye-catching box. Game box art is pivotal for both the creator and the gamer. The creator wants to make sure his or her game stands out from the sea of other games. The gamer wants to have a cool-looking piece to add to their collection.

3D Printed TTRPG-themed Ornament
The 3D printing adventure continues with a few festive models for the holidays! Both prints are inspired by tabletop role-playing games and feature a spinnable D20 die in the center.
