Progress Update
With the card art complete, the next push was to do some updates and cleanup on the Tabletop Simulator and Tabletopia versions of the game. Playtesting has been seriously lacking and that needs to change. TTS and Tabletopia are great options for playtesting digitally with people from all around the world. If you are interested in playtesting Atomic Edge, sign up here to be notified of the next playtest!
Challenges
It has been a while since my last playtest, so it was a little tough to get my mind back in the headspace of the playtest. Big lesson learned – either take better notes or make any changes to the game immediately after the playtest.
Next Steps
For the art, the next step is to start working on polishing up the United Nations cards.
I will also have the opportunity for some in-person playtesting coming up here in the fall, so I need to make sure I clean up and update the physical game. I also need to get some virtual playtests scheduled. Stay tuned for that!
Reflections
Marketing and social media have been eating up a lot of my time lately, but it is extremely important when it comes to game development. Admittedly I have ignored it for too long, so I’m working on correcting that.
Remember – making a game is fun, but no one will play it if no one knows about it.
